Qualified Staff

St Michael’s Long Day Care staff are chosen for their warmth, responsiveness, positive support and respect for individuals. Our policy at St Michael’s is to provide your child with the optimum educational experience and hence each class group is staffed with qualified experienced teachers.

Children with Additional Needs

At St Michael’s Long Day Care we pride ourselves in supporting children with additional needs. Staff work closely with families and community services to develop programs that meet a child’s individual needs.

St Michael's Long Day Care Centre was established in 1978 and caters for children from 2-5 year from within the Baulkham Hills Shire. It is a community based non-profit Centre licensed by the Department of Community Services.

Licensee is Sr Janet Woods RSM on behalf of the Board of St Michael’s Family Centre.

Long Day Care is approved for 36 places and currently has 86 children enrolled with 8 special needs children.There is a waiting list for future enrolments.

Possum Room caters for the 2-3 yr olds.

Wombat Room caters for the 3-5 yr olds.

Philosophy

Long Day Care's philosphy is 'young children learn what they live'. We believe that in a Long Day Care Centre we are providing a service and environment that works alongside parents in assisting their child to grow into inquisitive and friendly beings. Through the day to day care warm interactions and a homely environment, children will gain knowledge, skills, and an understanding of the society and culture in which they live. Children learn best in a happy, secure environment, somewhere they ‘feel at home’. Children should be provided with a creative educational atmosphere that is both non-sexist and non-racist.

Meals

We provide the children with morning tea, a two course lunch and afternoon tea.

Fees

Fees are currently $68-00 per day. The Child Care Benefit and Child Care Tax Rebate is available to eligible families. Please contact the Family Assistance Office for further details..
